I have often heard complaints about the Youth of Today, and their addiction to instant gratification, their need for constant feedback, their sense of entitlement to a decent job with rapid advancement when entering the adult world.
We grown-ups know that nothing gets handed to you, and you need to work hard. How dare they feel they are owed anything, right?
Whether any particular Youth is truly like this or not, I still sympathise greatly. This is because we are doing everything possible to put them in that mindset of entitlement, which is especially painful right now when the promises we make do not come true and they are not equipped to deal with it.
In order to explain myself, I have chosen today to convey my point through a cartoon instead of an essay. It’s called “Unentitled”. It was fun to make. Here goes…
